One Focused Day in Your Home

Through our experience working with clients across San Francisco and the Bay Area, we've learned that not every project asks for full-service interior design. Some clients want professional guidance and a sourced furniture plan, but prefer the flexibility to implement at their own pace. Design Day was created for them.

A complete plan covering the furniture, lighting, and accessories for up to three rooms — every piece specified through select retailers, ready for you to order on your own timeline. Pieces you already own and love can be woven in.

Whether you're finishing a few remaining spaces, phasing your furnishing investment over time, or simply prefer a more hands-on approach, Design Day gives you the plan — and the confidence to bring it to life. Designed for projects with a furnishings investment starting at $50,000.

How Design Day Works

Phase One:
Getting to know you

Before your Design Day, we'll get to know your taste, your home, and the pieces you already love. You'll complete a detailed design questionnaire — covering your style preferences, the materials you're drawn to, and any furniture you'd like to incorporate — and share inspiration images plus photos and measurements of the rooms we'll be working in. We review everything thoroughly, so we arrive with your style and goals in mind.

If you're still working out your aesthetic before our session, How to Discover Your Ideal Design Aesthetic is a useful starting place.

Phase Two:
A day in your home

Up to four hours of uninterrupted, in-home time with your interior designer, focused on up to three rooms in your home. Together we'll walk your spaces, talk through your goals, and shape the direction of your plan. A portion of our day is spent collaborating with you in your home; the rest is spent behind the scenes, sourcing the specific pieces and finishes for your design plan.

Phase Three:
Your design plan arrives

Within two weeks of your Design Day, we'll walk through your complete furniture plan together in a virtual presentation — a sourced selection of every piece we recommend for your rooms, available through select retailers. Where the design calls for it, your plan may also include recommendations for paint, wallpaper, or custom millwork to coordinate with your own painter or millworker.

Phase Four:
Support when you need it

Once we've walked through your design plan together in your virtual presentation, we move into the support phase — two weeks of project support to work through any questions as you begin to implement, plus one round of reselections if requested within five days of the presentation.

If you'd like ongoing guidance beyond your support window, our Interior Design Consulting service is a way to stay in touch with us across the life of your project.

Your Interior Designers

Your Design Day is led start-to-finish by one of our principal interior designers — Veronica Jurist or Aggie Revane, co-owners of Studio VAE. Between them, they bring decades of residential experience across San Francisco and the Bay Area, from the Outer Richmond to Pacific Heights, Cole Valley to Noe Valley. The eye reading your rooms is the eye behind every recommendation in the plan that follows.
